It may also refer to logistics specialists, who advise freight transportation clients as well as delivery drivers. As a transportation consultant focused on public transportation networks, your duties and responsibilities include performing research to understand the current capacity of a transportation network, collecting and analysing data, and coming up with solutions on how to improve systems or build out new features, such as improved bus routes or light rail lines. Some transportation consultants also teach at colleges or universities.
